This has been on my agenda for a while. What an amazing experience to remember? I ordered the signature cake “Strawberry Watermelon cake”. It was such a hot day this cake was the perfect way to cool down and relax.
The cake itself is vibrant colour and texture and beautifully decorated. Black Star Pastry is known for its “Strawberry Watermelon cake”, people travel some distances to enjoy it. It's hard to imagine how watermelon cake could taste but combined with the strawberry the flavours work well together.
I enjoyed it so much that I could eat a piece right now. The cake involves two layers of almond dacquoise (similar to meringue), rose scented cream, watermelon, strawberries and finished off with pistachios and dried rose petals. It was light, fluffy and fragrant.
