Today was Mother’s Day so for my mum this year we visited Little Big Blue which is located in the neighbourhood of Maroubra. The cafe offered a specialty high tea to celebrate the occasion. The high tea was presented on a small 3 tiered cake stand.
Starting on the bottom there was a layer of smoked salmon bagels, roast beef and
rocket sandwiches and cucumber cream cheese sliders. On the middle layer was creamy scones with jam and little servings of panacotta. Last but not least on the top layer were macrons, gluten free brownies and opera cake.
The smoked salmon bagels were my favourite savoury treat and were complimented well by the light and airy pistachio macarons. Indulging in the these delicacies was the perfect way to spend Mother’s Day.
